Dutch Television and Radio Highlight ME

30 May was a very special day for ME in The Netherlands.

Throughout the day the national news organisation, NOS, paid special attention to the problems experienced by children with ME in the health care system.

The Dutch Association for Pediatrics (NVK.nl) still promote Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Graded Exercise Therapy (GET) as being beneficial for these children.

EMEA Netherlands (ME/cvs Vereniging) believes that they have proof, based on their recent survey, that many children have been suffering severely from this approach.
In many cases they were confronted with pressure and coercion to undergo this treatment, which we believe can be harmful.

There is still a very long way to go, but we much progress has been, and continues to be made in raising awareness of these problems.

One of the news items that was highlighted during the day is included below, with subtitles in English.
